When you ask most people what a "Tarot card reading" means they think of a woman in a headscarf, hooped earings and a peasent skirt, leaning over a small table in a candlelit room, foretelling impending doom.

But that's not really what Tarot cards are about.  According to The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, whose teaching are the basis of most modern decks, "The most powerful sources of information come from within; the Tarot aids in coming in contact with one's Higher Self."

What tarot means for you and me?

The basic idea behind the Tarot’s workings is very simple and straightforward; together we will use Tarot  as a tool to help guide you or help you to make the decision yourslef, a consultation not a fortune telling. Tarot is a valuable form of meditation on the present momentand works best when you are looking for greater insight on a specific topic, to get an objective picture of the situation or for the development of self.

All one needs to recognize for tarot to be useful in their lives, is that things happen for a reason. Tarot seems to “live” within the principle of synchronicity, which was described by Jung as “meaningful coincidences.” The cards you draw are directed to give you an objective picture of a specific situation at this moment in time.  Forewarned is forearmed as they say, and with this awareness you can actively create the outcomes.

Tarot Consulting

The tarot acts as a mirror of the situations you are currently dealing with and can be a useful tool of self-discovery.  In the tarot consulting relationship we use the cards in meditations, visualizations and readings that deepen your inquiry and provide clarity to the situations at hand. You may be consulting tarot because you are facing a problem or challenge or something about your life is troubling you, and you want to understand why it is happening and what you can do about it. We all seek the certainty that we're making good choices, but the tarot can't make our decisions for us.  Tarot gives us the insight to how best to approach the situation in the present moment. It is NOT designed to answer questions asking for facts, yes/no answers or to give exact predictions about the future.  Tarot works on the principles that all things are connected and that everything happens for a reason. The cards, in fact, are tools that are used to reflect the energy of the situation in question. They provide insight on many levels from self-development, to practical life questions.

Framing your Question for a Consultation

Framing a question is a wonderful tool that not only focuses you on the question but also prepares you for the reading that follows. Writing a question usually takes no more than three or four minutes, but, for that small investment in time, you reap big rewards. You understand your situation better and can interpret your reading with more insight.
